Having a Blog is Weird

I started the preprepredecessor of this blog in order to have a place to write dumb or smart things as they come to mind, without having to worry too much about how interesting they were to anyone. A personal journal that other people happen to be able to see.

Now:

• My immediate offhand thoughts tend to go to Twitter.

• Most of the sort of serious writing energy I have is going into school.

• Some of the remaining serious writing energy goes into my Sakura Taisen article for HG101, a year in the making.

• Now all of a sudden I am writing a book. All serious writing energy this summer needs to go into it.

• Except for the very heavy blog post series I am working on that might never even be published.

• Other serious thoughts are going into conversations, because for any given topic I have at least one really thoughtful person in my life to discuss it with.

• Inspired by the Miranda’s Sweets Shop podcast, I might start recording a private voice journal while commuting, just to commit some important memories and thoughts before they are gone.

Anyway I Retinized this blog so it would stop looking dumb on my new MacBook Pro.
